Products supplied: Altro Australia were specified by the developer Central Equity to supply all square set cavity sliders and doors. Euro Cav Ultima cavity sliders were supplied complete with our proprietary ST50CB aluminium square setting beads and concealed carriage system for zero clearance between door and track. All cavity sliding doors were prepared by Altro for concealed carriages and T guide at base of door which meant less work for the builder on site.

Scope of works: Refurbishment of 595 hotel rooms by Shape Group. Altro Australia were the preferred supplier chosen by Starwood Hotels to replace existing bi-parting cavity sliding doors with a reliable heavy duty track system with a soft closing mechanism to prevent doors slamming. The Altro EKU Swiss cavity sliding carriage system was the obvious choice as it has the added advantage of a quick release/install feature which was paramount in a hotel environment where doors are subject to unforgiving heavy use every day. The ability to install or dismantle the door for maintainance so quickly was the draw-card.

Project description:

South Bank’s last remaining development site – located on Grey Street, between Vulture and Tribune Streets – will soon be one of the largest mixed-use, transport-oriented development (TOD) projects in Queensland and home to Brisbane’s second luxury boutique Emporium Hotel.

Southpoint will also feature beautifully appointed one, two and three bedroom luxury apartments and A-Grade commercial office space. The residential and hotel building will be linked by a ground-level pedestrian plaza that will incorporate convenience shopping, wine bars, cafes and restaurants around heritage-listed Collins Place, as well as an upgraded South Bank train station.

  Altro Australia worked closely with the Builder and subcontractor to help create the upmarket finish required by the developer. Altro's proprietary Euro Jamb shadowline door jamb and Euro Cav Ultima cavity sliding door system were used in conjunction with our new SL95 Euro Skirt system to create a stunning, fuss free shadowline detail with perfectly straight lines. Euro Jamb shadowline door jambs and cavity sliders used along with the SL95 shadowline skirting system is the simplest way to produce that highly sought after shadowline detail with straight lines and less trades and onsite work required.

Australia 108 - Southbank

Project description:

Australia 108 is a highly sculptural residential tower unlike any other in Australia. Its slender form is highlighted at the Cloud Residences levels by a golden starburst expression and then morphs into a curvaceous profile against the sky. The starburst which contains the resident facilities is inspired by the Commonwealth Star on the Australian flag and is an obvious celebration of the sense of community within the building.

Altro Building Systems have been awarded the contract to supply all cavity sliders and doors to this iconic project. Euro Cav Ultima cavity sliders were voted in by the development, architectural and building team for its durability and innovative carriage system concept developed by Swiss engineers. The Altro Swiss carriage system specially developed for the Euro Cav Ultima cavity sliding door system has a unique installation advantage enabling the door to be installed inside the cavity slider in half the amount of time of any other cavity sliding door system. It is also extremely serviceable due to the door being removed just as easily as the installation process. A soft closing function can also be installed or even retro fitted at a later stage. All flush panel doors are also being supplied to suit, complete with cutouts for concealed carriages and floor guides.

Project description:  The Latrobe Tower at 323 Latrobe street Melbourne consists of 205 apartments over 42 levels.


The building aesthetic draws from the rich art and music culture, visibly present in the re-claimed lane ways, south of the subject site. This history of music inspires the resulting facades, establishing rhythm and scale as a backdrop to this valuable precinct. 

Altro Building Systems supplied all custom made Euro Cav Ultima cavity sliders and aluminum glazed doors to all apartments. A strong emphasis was on durability and sustainability and Altro cavity sliders were used due to the full aluminium construction. Transfer of light from from room to room was needed and the Altro Vetro doors were used in conjunction with translucent glass infill panels for the spread of natural light. Altro Vetro aluminium doors have been pre machined in our factory for carriages and and bottom floor guides and are specially designed to fit the Euro cavity sliding door system with the advantage of less labour on site.

Project description:

An upmarket residential development on St Kilda Road comprising 332 luxury apartments, Parque has been designed by Fender Katsalidis architects and features 2 iconic glass towers. The towers are connected by a private outdoor area on Level 8, featuring a 25-metre infinity pool. The level 11 clubhouse has a library, a function room, outdoor terraces and a private dining room and kitchen designed by Shannon Bennett, with expansive views of Melbourne.

Altro Australia Pty Ltd supplied all internal Euro Cav Ultima cavity sliding door systems and doors to all apartments. The Altro DN80-FT concealed zero clearance cavity sliding door carriage was used for minimal clearance between door and ceiling for a crisp architectural finish.

Project Description:

Inspired by the masonry character of significant heritage buildings and their characteristic arches, a duality is introduced to the façade, represented by the varied aesthetics of the podium and tower. The through-site link comprises an 8 storey atrium and is designed to enrich and regenerate public amenity in this area of the CBD. The sculptural tower element floats above the podium, shaping the skyline with a gentle and organic form.

Organising a total of 220 Apartments (including 42 serviced apartments) KTAs scheme focuses on a design that enhances both public and residential amenity. A ground plan opens to Kent and Clarence St, with an arcade activated by retail and commercial uses. The apartments on the lower levels are protected by recessed balconies, defining a visual and spatial identity similar to a New York loft.

The design is exciting, innovative and unique and is intended to set a new benchmark for architectural design in the western skyline of Sydney’s CBD. It represents a shared outcome that captures the objectives of the council controls while allowing an imaginatively refined design.

  Altro Australia spent time with the development and architectural teams to provide a solution for cavity sliders that were of a commercial grade strength and with a carriage system that enabled the door to be easily serviced. The Altro Euro Swiss carriage, specifically designed for our cavity sliders was used for its zero clearance and rapid installation and release feature for easy door removal if needed. Altro worked with the architect to custom design our cavity sliders to their requirements.

Engaged by Singaporean company Fragrance Tas-Hobart Pty Ltd, Xsquared Architects has led the design team for this significant new hotel on a prominent Macquarie Street site in Hobart. The 296 room hotel will be the largest in Tasmania, and incorporates an enclosed roof top swimming pool, gym, meeting rooms, restaurants and retail tenancies.

The project is registered to achieve a 5 star Green Star sustainability rating and a focus from the outset has been to ensure that the building’s lifecycle impacts are considered. From water harvesting to energy efficient mechanical systems the building typifies how sustainable principles can be harmoniously incorporated into a new commercial building.

Altro Australia Pty Ltd worked with X Squared to create a robust skirting system to stand up to a Hotel environment. Euro Skirt SL95 Altro shadowline skirting system was the preferred product due to its strong corrosion resistant aluminium construction.
